Enhancement of Driver Safety Management

A North American food service distributor with over a century of experience in the food service industry. Originally starting as a butter-and-egg delivery service, the company has grown to become the largest family-owned food service distributor in North America, and one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Focused on sustainability, integrity, hard work, and a commitment to service, it operates distribution centers and marketplace stores from Michigan to Florida, ensuring convenient locations and delivery options.

Business Challenge

Currently, the transportation unit utilizes an application called ROLODEX which was customized within their existing system to manage the crucial Driver Safety Process. This application tracks driver information and maintains a history of violations and claims associated with each driver. However, the existing system has limitations that hinder the effective administration of a seamless driver safety program.

JRD Solution

This project aims to provide an intranet-based application for the transportation unit to streamline their processes. The new application, called the Driver Safety Application (DSA), will include several value-added features and functionalities that will assist the transportation unit in running smooth operations. Additionally, it will enable a transition away from the dependency on the existing ROLODEX application.
