    Leadership Lens

    Hi Team,

I was thinking recently about how far JRD has come. When it started in 2001, it was just Jai handling everything himself—recruiting, sales, operations—whatever needed to get done. What began as a small recruiting firm in Michigan has grown into a technology partner working with both startups and large enterprise clients.

Over time, we’ve expanded our teams, opened new offices, and taken on more complex work. From starting in Chennai to building out teams in Bangalore and Hyderabad, we’ve steadily evolved into a broader IT solutions company. A lot of that has come from being willing to adjust, figure things out, and keep moving forward.

What really matters, though, is the team. The way people step in, solve problems, and support each other is what actually drives everything we do. That’s been consistent no matter how much we’ve grown.

Looking ahead, there’s still a lot we can build on. I’m excited about where we’re going and confident in what this team can do together.

    Spotlight:
Momentum, Milestones, and What’s Coming Up Next

    POSH Training

The POSH training was conducted with a strong focus on the prevention of sexual harassment at our workplace. The session covered what constitutes sexual harassment, helping build clarity on behaviors and boundaries. The facilitator also provided guidance on how to identify, prevent, and address such situations. It also outlined the reporting mechanisms in place and the support systems available reinforcing that concerns will be handled with sensitivity, confidentiality and fairness.

    Communication & Meeting Effectiveness

A focused session on communication discipline and meeting etiquette was conducted to improve the quality of our daily interactions. Key themes included the importance of clear agendas, active listening (without interruptions), and structured participation. Jira was highlighted as a critical enabler for visibility and accountability, ensuring that conversations translate into tracked, actionable outcomes.

    Rewards & Recognitions

    • Star Performer Award: Uday Kumar – for consistently driving impact and setting high standards of excellence.
    • Spot Award: Mahalakshmi Selvasekar – for an exceptional presentation at the TED Talks session demonstrating clarity of thought and confidence.

More Than Moments: The Impact of Team Engagement

Human beings are social animals. Our team events and lunches go beyond good food and great times. They build camaraderie that directly strengthens how we work together. Informal interactions beyond the purview of professional environment, create a deeper understanding of each other’s styles, strengths, and perspectives. This familiarity translates into smoother collaboration, faster alignment, and improved productivity back at work. Simply put, deeper team connections drive sharper collaboration and higher productivity.

    Phishing Awareness

As phishing attempts become more sophisticated, awareness is our first line of defense. Be mindful of unexpected emails, unfamiliar links, or requests for sensitive information. Especially those creating urgency. Always verify before acting and report anything suspicious. A moment of caution can prevent significant risk.

Strong Delivery Systems. Greater Impact. Lasting Contribution

    People in Focus: Phani Pathuri

If there’s one way to describe Phani, it is simple. Calm under pressure

If you ever want to understand Phani as a PM, just imagine this.

A regular workday. The project is slightly off track, three people are talking at once, one task isn’t on Jira and then someone says, “I thought we discussed this.”

Phani takes a sip of his coffee. Of course, coffee to start.

He doesn’t react immediately. He listens. Nods. Processes. You’re not entirely sure if he agrees or if he’s just acknowledging your existence, but somehow, you feel heard.

    Then comes the move.

In a matter of minutes, everything is reprioritized, everyone is realigned. And suddenly the chaos has a plan. No big speech. No dramatic turnaround. Just a calm reset that gets things back on track.

Somewhere in between, he’s already made a mental list of everything that needs to be done. Because that’s his thing. Lists. Quietly holding his universe together, one bullet point at a time.

The meeting ends. Five minutes earlier than expected.

That’s it. That’s the highlight of his day.

By evening, the work is done; things are back in control, and Phani is out on a ride, heading toward good food and a well earned break.

No chaos carried forward. No overthinking. Just reset and move on.

If the team had to describe him in a meme, it would be simple: Stay Calm and Carry On.

In Phani’s case, it’s not just a mindset. It’s how the project gets delivered.

    From the Center of Excellence:
AI Tools Transforming Modern Software Development

AI tools for developers have rapidly evolved from simple code completion assistants to intelligent agents that support the entire software development lifecycle. Tools like Junie and CodeRabbit represent this shift. Junie acts as a coding agent within JetBrains IDEs, capable of generating, modifying, and refactoring code across multiple files while understanding project context. In contrast, CodeRabbit focuses on automated code reviews, helping teams identify bugs, improve code quality, and enforce best practices directly within pull requests.

Beyond these, tools like GitHub Copilot provide real-time code suggestions and are increasingly adding agentic capabilities such as PR creation and workflow automation. Platforms like Codeium offer a strong alternative with fast, context-aware completions and growing support for chat-based development and code generation across multiple IDEs.

Newer AI-native editors like Cursor go further by enabling multi-file edits, contextual understanding of entire repositories, and task-level automation. At the same time, emerging tools such as Antigravity are pushing the boundaries toward more autonomous development workflows, where AI can assist in planning, structuring, and executing development tasks with minimal human intervention.

Collectively, these tools enhance developer productivity by reducing manual effort, improving code quality, and accelerating delivery. While coding agents (like Junie and Cursor) focus on creating and modifying code, review-focused tools (like CodeRabbit) ensure reliability and maintainability, and assistants like Copilot and Codeium streamline day-to-day development. Together, they form a powerful and evolving ecosystem that is transforming how modern software is built, reviewed, and deployed.

    Looking Ahead:
    Innovation in Progress

    Project Landscape:

Our Appian projects are taking a clear step forward with growing engagements and increasing traction. The expanded scope and deeper involvement reflect both the confidence in our capabilities and the momentum we are building.

Other projects with GFS, S&P and other JRD driven projects continue to progress steadily, supported by a strong and consistent cadence with external stakeholders, enabling better alignment and smoother execution.

    AI-First Approach:

As we continue to scale, we are consciously moving towards an AI-first approach across functions. The intent is to leverage AI not just as an enabler, but as a core driver of how we enhance efficiency, improve decision-making and deliver smarter & faster outcomes. This shift goes beyond the adoption of tools; it is about embedding AI into the way we think, operate and consistently create value for our stakeholders.

As part of this direction, we are actively building and testing multiple Proofs of Concept across areas such as the QA Engineering Framework and broader AI enablement. These PoCs are focused on evaluating practical, high-impact use cases that can accelerate execution, reduce manual effort and unlock efficiencies across functions as well as across deliveries. They are helping us move from intent to implementation, ensuring that our AI-first approach is grounded in real, scalable applications.

The outcomes from these initiatives are expected to drive expanded opportunities and deeper engagements, while also strengthening our ability to deliver with greater agility, precision and impact.
